There are two dozen species in this genus listed on Index Fungorum. Seven are recorded in MycoPortal for the USA, including an unidentified specimen in Alaska. Camarops petersii also occurs in Canada.

  1. Camarops ferruginea (New York).
  2. Camarops hypoxyloides (Louisiana).
  3. Camarops petersii (widespread).
  4. Camarops microspora (Iowa).
  5. Camarops polysperma (Florida, Iowa).
  6. Camarops pugillus (Virginia).
  7. Camarops tubulina (Maryland, North Carolina).
More molecular phylogenetic work is required to sort out species among related genera.
