Genus Camarops
There are two dozen species in this genus listed on Index Fungorum. Some species have been split out into Camaropella, Cornipulvina, and Mollicamarops but further work is needed to delimit these genera (Huhndorf and Miller 2008). Seven species are recorded in MyCoPortal for the USA. Camarops ohiensis has been confused with C. petersii but the former is flatter cushion-shaped (pulvinate) and lacks the veil (Nannfeldt 1972).
- Camarops ferruginea (NY; possibly an Endoxyla).
- Camarops hypoxyloides (LA).
- Camarops ohiensis (CT, GA, NC, NY, OH, PA, WV).
- Camarops petersii (widespread, USA, Canada).
- Camarops microspora (AK, ID, IA, ME, MA, MI, NH, NY; ON).
- Camarops polysperma (FL, IA).
- Camarops pugillus (MA, NC, NY, TN, VA).
- Camarops tubulina (MD, NC; possibly AK).
